DEMOLITION GIRL by Genta Matsugami, winner of the 2019 JAPAN CUTS Award, deals with a high school girl determined to leave her impoverished small town life behind, earning money as a video fetish performer. We celebrate women empowerment again with this strong portrait of a young girl fighting for her education, her life, against a bleak backdrop of a dysfunctional family and tricky money jobs.
